How to Store and Reheat Bagels

Fresh bagels are always best enjoyed at their peak, but proper storage makes all the difference in preserving flavor and texture. If you order bagels online, knowing how to store and reheat them ensures you get that authentic New York style bite every time.

Our bagels are best served fresh and last up to 6 days on the counter when stored in a sealed bag at room temperature. If you need longer storage, they can last 2 to 3 weeks in the refrigerator and up to 3 months in the freezer.

For maximum freshness, freezing is often the best option. If possible, slice your bagels before freezing so they are ready to toast or reheat straight from storage.

When preparing a frozen bagel, simply place it on the counter for 10 to 15 minutes to thaw slightly. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees and bake for about 5 minutes, or until your desired level of crust is achieved. This method restores the crisp exterior while keeping the interior dense and chewy.

If you prefer a quicker option, toasting from frozen also works well. The goal is to bring back the texture that defines a proper New York style bagel.

Proper storage is simple, but it is the key to maintaining bakery quality flavor at home.
